Vice President &
Senior NetCommunity Consultant
Rebecca began her career as a graphic designer but soon joined the ranks of educators in order to pass her trade to future designers. In 2008 she transitioned to the Advancement Office at Holy Trinity Episcopal Academy, where she served as their Brand & NetCommunity Web Manager. There she gained experience in marketing for independent schools as well as extensive knowledge for designing in & around Blackbaud NetCommunity. Since 2010, she has worked as an independent NetCommunity consultant for Nonprofit Garden’s full portfolio of mission-driven clients.
Rebecca’s area of expertise is in design & web projects including but certainly not limited to NetCommunity, WordPress, and Luminate. She excels at project implementation, management and personalized training. Clients repeatedly applaud her user-friendly and humorous style of training & her ability to bring even the most “technology phobic” staffers to a place of comfort to independently use their software. She has also earned the unofficial moniker “Email Queen” for her ability to create reliable and beautiful responsive email templates regardless of whether they will be used in Constant Contact, MailChimp, Emma, NetCommunity, or other software.
What gets me out of bed in the morning:
My clients. I was raised with generations of family members who all have a servant’s heart so supporting others first is in my genetic makeup. I focus on each client and organization on a personal level in order to build a lasting relationship. Realistic project plan; creative collaboration; building communities & in-turn enhanced fundraising: these are a few of my favorite things. It’s my clients’ success stories that drive me to do more, to be more.
What keeps me up at night:
Problem solving. It’s not enough to create pretty design, you have to eliminate the problems as well. Since I am so passionate about my clients’ needs, I make it my mission to eliminate any stumbling blocks to their success. That means I sleep with a pad & pen on my nightstand so I can quickly “brain dump” ideas no matter what time it is.
Rebecca has a BFA with specialization in Graphic Design from the University of Central Florida. Go Knights!
The Bigger Picture
Rebecca and her husband are living the beach life in Jacksonville, Florida. Having moved all over the country, she is happy to be closer to her Southern & Cuban roots and closer to the coast. She’s a dog mom to their rescued Australian Cattle Dog mix, Skye Mercy, who lives for chasing squirrels & playing on the beach. In her down time, Rebecca loves volunteering with the SPCA, gardening, painting and up-cycling home decor.
