Founder & CEO
Lisa has launched and implemented new technologies, particularly fundraising and online community software, for nearly 20 years. Hundreds of hours spent with clients and years of managing projects have given her first-hand knowledge of the opportunities and challenges unique to the nonprofit world.
Lisa trained extensively in The Raiser’s Edge® and NetCommunity™ during her time as a Senior Consultant at Blackbaud® before returning to independent consulting. She had been a fundraiser for small educational and membership organizations, before becoming familiar with nonprofit needs for online communities while working at Stanford University. In 2010, Lisa co-founded Beyond Nines, an independent firm offering the most comprehensive Blackbaud® professional services and hosting available. She started Nonprofit Garden in 2015 to expand those services to nonprofits regardless of their vendor or software selection.
Known for her ability to meet challenging deadlines and work within budget constraints, Lisa has a knack for bringing competing stakeholders to agreement. Clients also appreciate the value (and humor) she adds to each project as compared to their previous experiences with technology integrations and project management.
What gets me out of bed in the morning:
Coffee! My morning routine starts with a review of our active consulting projects, talking with new and current customers, and making sure the Nonprofit Garden team is happy. Happy consultants make happy clients!
What keeps me up at night:
Finding the best possible staff for our team. Balancing quality and growth are critical. I firmly believe we’re only as good as our last project.
Lisa earned her M.B.A. in organizational development with a focus on nonprofit organizations from the University of California, Davis in 1993. Lisa is certified at the Associate level for Blackbaud® Certification in The Raiser’s Edge® (bCRE).
The Bigger Picture
When she’s not on a plane or cruising in her convertible, with her dog Tucker. Lisa can be found cooking with fresh herbs, fruits and vegetables from the garden. She counts herself lucky to be living in colorful Colorado doing what she loves, and enabling others to do more.
