Mies Society’s website contained outdated content, many instances of broken functionality and broken links. The site was also maintained by a third-party developer that was difficult to access. Continuing under these conditions was impossible so the team at Mies Society reached out to us seeking a website solution that was as easy to use for administrators as external users. It was also important that they didn’t lose the Raiser’s Edge / NetCommunity functionality their sister organization, Illinois Institute of Technology Alumni, already had in place.
WordPress / NetCommunity Project Highlights
Mobile Responsive Websites
Created a hybrid WordPress / NetCommunity website solution with seamless transition for external users.
Photo Gallery Lightbox
Created a custom photo gallery with lightbox functionality that displays full-size versions of imagery along with copyright, photo credits and captions.
Social Media Integration
Implemented social media sharing options to all pages in WordPress website.
In a tight budget cycle, we worked with the team at Mies Society to transfer the current site design into both WordPress and NetCommunity websites. It was important that users were unaware of the transition from the main WordPress site to any online giving, membership or event registration pages housed in NetCommunity. Launching this hybrid CMS solution gave staff immediate access to make updates quickly without losing the database integration to which they were accustomed.
